- 2¼ cupsall-purpose flour
- 1 cupbutter, unsalted
- 1 cupbrown sugar, packed
- ½ cupgranulated sugar
- 2 largeeggs
- 2 tspvanilla extract
- 1 tspbaking soda
- 1 tspsalt
- 2 cupschocolate chips

Instructions
- 1.Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, swirling occasionally, until it turns golden and smells nutty, about 5 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.
- 2.Whisk browned butter with both sugars until combined. Add eggs and vanilla, whisk vigorously for 1 minute.
- 3.Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- 4.Refrigerate dough 30 minutes (or overnight). Preheat oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment.
- 5.Scoop dough into balls (about 2 tbsp each) onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- 6.Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers look slightly underdone. Sprinkle with flaky salt. Cool on the pan 5 minutes.
Notes
Browning the butter adds a deep, nutty flavor. Chilling the dough overnight makes them even better, but 30 minutes works too.
