Tender sliced beef and crisp broccoli in a glossy, savory brown sauce — better than takeout.

  • 1 lbflank steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 cupsbroccoli florets
  • 3garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tspginger, grated
  • ⅓ cupsoy sauce
  • 2 tbspoyster sauce
  • 1 tbspbrown sugar
  • 1 tspsesame oil
  • 2 tbspcornstarch
  • 2 tbspvegetable oil
  • for garnishsesame seeds

Instructions

  1. 1.Toss sliced beef with 1 tbsp cornstarch and a pinch of salt. Marinate 10 minutes.
  2. 2.Whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, remaining cornstarch, and ¼ cup water. Set aside.
  3. 3.Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 90 seconds. Drain and set aside.
  4. 4.Heat oil in a wok over high heat. Sear beef in a single layer, 1–2 minutes per side. Remove.
  5. 5.In the same wok, stir fry garlic and ginger 30 seconds. Return beef and broccoli. Pour in sauce.
  6. 6.Toss until glossy and sauce thickens, about 1 minute. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve over rice.
