Perfect Grilled Cheese

  • 2 thick slicessourdough bread
  • 2 ozsharp cheddar, sliced
  • 1 ozGruyère, sliced
  • 1 tbspbutter, softened
  • ½ tspDijon mustard (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1.Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
  2. 2.Spread Dijon (if using) on the unbuttered side of one slice. Layer both cheeses on top.
  3. 3.Top with the second slice, buttered side out.
  4. 4.Place in a cold skillet, then turn heat to medium-low. Cook 4 minutes until bottom is deep golden.
  5. 5.Flip and cook another 3–4 minutes until the second side is golden and cheese is fully melted. Serve immediately.
