Golden, custardy French toast with warm cinnamon. Serve with fresh berries and powdered sugar.

  • 4 slicesthick-cut bread (brioche or Texas toast)
  • 3 largeeggs
  • ½ cupwhole milk
  • 1 tspvanilla extract
  • ½ tspground cinnamon
  • 1 tbspsugar
  • 2 tbspbutter
  • for servingpowdered sugar and maple syrup

Instructions

  1. 1.Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar in a shallow dish.
  2. 2.Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tbsp butter.
  3. 3.Dip each bread slice in the egg mixture, soaking for 20 seconds per side.
  4. 4.Cook in the buttered pan for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown. Add more butter as needed.
  5. 5.Serve dusted with powdered sugar alongside maple syrup.
